Visiting the Episcopal Church of the Ascension

Visiting a new church can be an axious experience, so here is some information about our faith community and what to expect as together we give our thanks and praise to God.

Where is the church?

Ascension is located in east Twin Falls at 371 Eastland Drive North, just two blocks north of Addison and a block south of Filer. One of our defining features are the numerous soccerfields which surround the church and support the local youth soccer clubs.

What do I need to wear?

Dress comfortably. While some people dress up, most wear casual and comfortable clothing on Sunday. Weekday groups are always casual. You are invited to come as you are and experience our friendly faces and a warm welcome. 

When do I need to arrive?

We have one Sunday service at 9:00am. It is good to plan to arrive about five to ten minutes before the service starts, so that a greeter can help you find a seat and answer any questions you may have.

What can I expect during worship?

You will be greeted at the door and receive a bulletin that will help guide you through the service. We use two books in our worship: The Book of Common Prayer (red cover) and The Hymnal 1982 (blue cover). During the service the priest will invite the congregation to come to the Lord’s Table for Holy Communion.

Do I need to be a member to participate in Holy Communion?

We welcome all people who seek God and a deeper life in Christ to receive Holy Communion. You do not need to be a member of Ascension Church. Come forward at the invitation of the ushers and receive the bread and wine or by bread alone. Gluten-free wafers are available. If you prefer not to receive, we invite you to come forward with arms crossed for a blessing if you desire.

What about children?

We take the safety and security of your child very seriously. Children are most welcome at all of our services of worship.

Is there Sunday School?

Educational and fellowship opportunities for children and adults are offered seasonally and occasionally thoughtout the year.
